Safety Management System (SMS)

🎓 Level: Post-graduate studies
🏫 Mode: Part-time
⏳ Duration: 1 year
🇵🇱 Language: Polish

About the studies

The course was created for people interested in the issues of safety management in civil aviation, in particular for aviation industry practitioners. The study program allows you to acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge, but above all, to gain practical skills.

It is updated on an ongoing basis by experienced staff, valued experts in the field of safety management and the functioning of safety management systems (SMS). You will acquire knowledge and skills in a small group, thanks to which you have a better chance of actively participating in the classes. This goal is also served by the introduction of a limit of places (35) and workshops carried out in small groups, during which it will be possible to consult specific problems and conduct case studies. You will also take final exams in a practical form, thanks to which you will demonstrate the knowledge and skills acquired during your studies.

For the CPK, which is currently the largest infrastructure investment in Poland, the support of the scientific and research sector is absolutely crucial. Cooperation brings benefits for both parties: Lazarski Aviation Academy gains a relationship with a prospective employer, and the CPK gains access to an important research center and its professional staff.

A word from a faculty member

The Airline Management specialization was created thanks to the cooperation of the Lazarski Aviation Academy with partners such as IATA, LOT Polish Airlines and PGL. During a two-year program, students take classes at Lazarski University in Warsaw, online and practical workshops with IATA experts in Geneva. They can also use our flight simulator free of charge and at any time and integrate during the many events that we organize for them, as well as have the opportunity to fly with an instructor on certified simulators. After graduation, the graduates of the Airline Management program will receive the Lazarski University diploma and the IATA certificate – the most recognizable document in the world that confirms their competence to work in the air transport market.

We see enormous interest in the aviation industry, which is a strategically important sector for the European Union. Before the pandemic, it contributed EUR 300 billion (or around 2.1% of GDP) to the European economy, providing over 5 million jobs. As statistics show, the industry is constantly growing in strength. Therefore, we’ve decided to launch a new field of study by establishing cooperation with one of the most important entities in the industry.

Students and alumni feedback

When boarding an airplane, I always felt the pleasant thrill of a new adventure. Therefore, as a young lawyer, I chose these post-graduate studies without hesitation. Classes in small groups allowed me to establish direct contacts with lecturers – experts in the aviation industry. I also won a prestigious internship at the ICAO headquarters in Montreal. I think that if a few years ago I had not listened to my intuition and had not developed a passion for aviation, I would not have been at the point in my career where I am now.
