Profile bio

He has over 30 years of professional experience in the field of air transport. He was a long-term employee of PLL LOT, where he held various positions in many functional areas of the company at various executive and management levels, such as aircraft maintenance, air operations management, strategic planning of the connection network and decision support. In 1999. was appointed to organize the PLL LOT company with the General Electric concern, which was registered under the name Central European Engine Services (CEES) and which he then headed for 10 years as the President of the Management Board. Parallel to his professional work in the LOT Polish Airlines group, Dr. Słodownik was involved in scientific activities in the field of modeling complex systems. On his initiative, LOT Polish Airlines started cooperation with the Interdisciplinary Center for Mathematical and Computational Modeling of the University of Warsaw (ICM) in the area of modeling the operating system of an air carrier, which resulted in the development of an advanced method of simulation analysis of the planned flight schedule and made it possible to reduce the operational costs of flight schedule implementation.

In the following years, cooperation with the University was expanded to include research in the field of applications of advanced analytical techniques for forecasting the profitability of the air connections network. Cooperation with ICM made it possible for Dr. Słodownik as a representative of PLL LOT for the work of the prestigious organization Airlines Group of International Federation of Operational Research Society (AGIFORS), as well as taking part on behalf of ICM in a research project on the use of new analytical techniques for modeling the aviation market. Dr Słodownik is an aviation engineer with the title of Doctor of Technical Sciences and he is a graduate of postgraduate studies in the field of air transport management with the title of IATA Diploma in Airline Management which he obtained in Geneva at the Air Transport Management Academy run by the International Airlines Transport Association. He also completed various specialized training courses, including courses for engineers at the Boeing Training Center in Seattle. Currently, he is associated with a group of scientists from the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics of the University of Warsaw conducting research in the field of multi-agent modeling applications for economic analyzes, and also participates in conducting classes with students from this Faculty.
